Here are ten golden rules to follow at a gym to make sure that you are not a nuisance to those around you.
1. Carry a towel. No one wants to bathe in your sweat.

If you are going to workout, you are going to sweat. Carry a towel and wipe the sweat off yourself and the gym equipment, always!
2. Don’t scream the hell out.

While grunting your way through the last rep may be helpful to you, for others it’s only a distraction. With your screaming you are one step away from making someone drop weights on their foot.
3. Tone down the self-admiration.

Can’t believe you’ve dropped those extra kgs? Well, good for you! Save the excitement for home. Other people might want to look into gym mirror too.
4. Rack the weights.
5. Sharing is caring.

You are not going to get a great body by being a possessive meanie. Share workout machines with others, alternate your reps whenever you can.
6. Gym is not a dating hotspot.

It’s true that love can be found anywhere. But please don’t be a desperate hawk ogling at women while they workout. It’s just creepy.
7. Don’t hog the equipment.

The rule applies for all gym equipment, but it’s especially important when using cardio machines. Don’t block them for more than 20 mins. Give everyone a chance to use them.
8. Respect your trainer.
9. Refrain from imparting wisdom.

You may have researched the entire cyber space to know the secrets of fitness, but keep them to yourself. Unless asked, don’t drop your pearls of wisdom on newcomers.
