Welcome Back's male lead John Abraham is not showing any overt happiness over what threatens to be the biggest success of his career since Dhoom.
"We all wanted it to be a success .We prayed for it. More than me, it was important for my producer Firoz Nadiadwala for Welcome Back to succeed. I wanted it to work for him. He has shown immense faith in me, signed me to do Welcome Back and Hera Pheri 3 at a time when not too many big producers showed the same kind of faith in me. Firoz held my hand at time when I needed to prove myself in a genre that people thought I couldn't carry off. Firoz held my hand, I held his hand. That's how we saw this project through," says John appreciatively, his voice betraying none of the excitement that he must feel at the unexpected windfall.
Shrugs John, "I believe the audiences, producers are all stunned by Welcome Back. I neither get over- disheartened by failure nor over-excited by success. So there is no reason for me to jump out of my normal zone and start giving interviews about throwing a success party. I've always believed in myself. It's not over-confidence, just a proper estimate of my abilities. I respect those who believe in me. As for those who don't believe in me, I don't care."
John Abraham made a comeback to the screen after two years. His last release was Shoojit Sircar's Madras Cafe. The actor says he had no fear of being forgotten by the audience. "I've always been confident about my life and career. I knew exactly what I was doing. The two-year gap was not planned. Welcome Back should have been released in 2014."
