I watched it this week and was blown away. It's an incredibly heavy and powerful movie. I honestly think it's a modern masterpiece and it really shows that Scorsese has devoted a lot of time (apparently 25+ years) to developing it.
But it sucks to see that it hasn't received much recognition in awards and accolades so far, probably because of its awkwardly late/limited release.
I'm curious to find out: why did Paramount do such a poor job at promoting and releasing Silence? It seems pretty strange, especially because there was so much hype leading up to it (considering it's Scorsese's long-time passion project and his newest movie since The Wolf of Wall Street).
