This movie is still relevant politically. It will always be relevant spiritually.
If you enjoy movies about intelligent life and space exploration then this is for you. I personally love this movie and similar movies that explore the universe 'out there' and 'in here'. After rewatching it I became aware of how similar it is to Interstellar in many ways.
Remember, you are the universe experiencing itself. Or as Carl Sagan stated, “The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself.”
