I received my MoviePass card last week, and I used it twice this weekend, both times for movies I probably wouldn't have seen in theaters otherwise: The Big Sick and Logan Lucky. Given how expensive movies have gotten, I had recently only been going a few times a year, usually for movies I was extremely excited about (Star Wars) or those that I felt demanded viewing on the big screen (Dunkirk). Now that cost is essentially removed from the equation, it opens up a lot more films that I would like to see on the big screen where I couldn't justify the expense before.
On a side note, I would be interested to know if MoviePass ends up noticeably affecting box office receipts going forward. It has the potential to boost initial earnings for films drastically.
