Watching Marlon Brandon in A Streetcar Named Desire Feels Like Watching Two Completely Different Ages of Acting Clash in a Film

The entire cast except Marlon Brando are acting in that usual 30s/40s type of embellished acting style where it doesn't really FEEL real but like actual acting even if good. Marlon on the other hand FEELS so real, where he is actually being the character and feeling the emotions instead of acting what the character is meant to be like and acting out emotions. It feels like seeing the art form of acting advance, with such a strong contrast between acting styles.

Is Marlon Brando one of the pioneers of method acting? I'll be honest, I haven't seen too many older movies, I wanna say I've seen within 20 films made between the 30s and 60s, and I can't name one where I've seen this type of natural acting style. Anyone know of any other movies where actors are this real?
