I rewatched Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri the other night and noticed something interesting.
There’s a scene where Dixon sits down with his mom to watch the TV and he says something along the lines of “Donald Sutherland again? Is this the one where his daughter dies?”. This comment made me think that the movie he’s referring to is Don’t Look Now.
In Don’t Look Now, there’s a killer on the lose and in the end it’s revealed that the killer was a midget/little person.
I’m wondering if this was a hint that Peter Dinklage’s character was the one who killed Mildred’s daughter in Three Billboards. Or if it was just Mcdonagh referencing a movie with a midget on account of him liking midgets.
Anyways, thought it was interesting. Thoughts? J
