For anyone that likes things to do with feats of human engineering and the great space race, you need to have seen 1983s ‘the right stuff’. At 3hrs13 minutes this film journeys from breaking the sound barrier attempts, astronaut training and to the first men in space. I rarely ever hear anyone talk about this movie but I remember seeing it as a kid with my dad on TV, and recently rewatched it - I was amazed at how many scenes had stayed with me after all those years.
The ending sort of loses pace with me, but 80% of the movie is fantastic. I’d love to hear some other’s opinions.
