I just watched it last night, and one thing I haven't seen mentioned but stuck out to me was at one point Joi superimposed over Mariette to become "real"
Later, when K is talking to the memory maker (who absolutely stole the show for me), in the glass reflection you can see her image superimposed over his. It's the inverse of the earlier scene.
A very subtle hint at what's going on.
