Maybe it’s because the past few years my hearing has deteriorated slightly and in the back of my mind I’ve thought about what it would be like to actually lose my hearing, but this movie hit really hard and Riz Ahmed’s performance was incredible. While the entire movie is about him coming to terms with being deaf, the first half scared me more than any horror movie has in the past decade. This isn’t a knock on horror movies it’s more of a testament to the real fear this movie presents and how well the cast delivers it.
