As someone who has a horrible fear of heights (can’t even climb a 10 foot ladder without getting shakey), this opening scene fucked me up. It’s so unexpected, I really thought that the girl was gonna be some big character in the movie and would have the typical dramatic damsel in distress rescue like most action movies of the time. But damn. This movie has balls, barely any character has plot armor except for about 3 people, so you never know who’s gonna die suddenly.
I’m really hoping we get the NC-17 version of this film one day, it’s about 15 minutes longer and contains a lot of awesome gore that was cut to appease the MPAA.
