Hi. I just watched Madame Web in theatres, and was stunned at just how broken it was from a fundamental level: nearly every piece of dialogue, action sequence, performance, editing was absolutely awful. My question is, if I (and my family, who has no experience in filmmaking) can tell just how awful the movie is, how does something like this end up happening? If a general audience member can tell the ADR is terrible, how come no one at Sony can tell? Sure, I know that Sony’s priority is making money and they don’t care for quality, but a movie like Madame Web is so incompetent in every single aspect that it feels like they’re deliberately trying to be bad. Even actors who are generally good deliver bad performances. What is the reasoning behind this?
