If SSL is enabled on Tableau Server, you may see an error message display in SharePoint within the Tableau web part like in the example below. This error message displays because you may be using a self signed SSL certificate, or a certificate signed by a certificate authority (CA) that is not on the SharePoint machine's trusted list.
The SharePoint machine and all machines in the SharePoint server farm must trust the CA that Tableau Server is using. In other words, the Tableau Server SSL certificate must be on SharePoint’s trusted list for SharePoint to properly display the embedded views. For the certificate to be included on SharePoint’s trusted list, you must first import the Tableau Server certificate into the Trusted Root Certificate Authority on the SharePoint machine.
Note: After you have completed the steps below, the Tableau SSL certificates must be added to SharePoint’s certificate trust store. To do this, go to SharePoint’s Central Administration area, and install the certificate there.
