Tableau versions 6.1 and higher support Teradata databases configured with LDAP for authentication. If your Teradata database changes to use LDAP, old workbooks will have to be migrated to the new authentication type. In order to migrate Teradata data connections to use LDAP, the data connection for each existing workbook must be edited using Tableau Desktop.
Note: For workbooks already published to Server, you must download each workbook, edit its connection using Tableau Desktop, and then republish it to Server.
To edit a Teradata data connection to use LDAP:
Step 1
With the workbook open in Tableau Desktop, select Data > Connect to Data.
Step 2
In the Connect to Data dialog box, select Teradata and then click the Next button.
Step 3
Complete the Teradata Connection dialog box, ensuring that you select LDAP from the Authentication drop down list instep 2.
Step 4
Click OK to finish editing the data connection.
Note: If you are publishing the workbook to Tableau Server, you'll have to republish it after editing the connection with the steps above.
