With Tom Hardy being considered for the roll, I just wanted to voice who I think the strongest candidate is. Seeing Man from Uncle totally decided this for me. I love Hardy, but Cavill has the iconic bond wit and mannerisms down. Despite Man from Uncle flopping in the box office, I though it had a unique style and charm that somewhat reminded me of the old Bond films. Cavill is a great actor and I think that breaking away from the current DC universe would really be a good move for him.
Edit: A lot of BvS and man of Steel hate. I agree, but I also think that anyone who blames Cavill's performance for those flops would be very wrong.
