Some movies are just destined to be great, not that they always turn out the way. However, it's not surprising when a film with all the right pieces in place, like a visionary director and/or a superstar writer, turns out smelling like roses.
But what are some films that had no right to be great?
Clerks is one that jumps to my mind. You had a writer/director in Kevin Smith who had minimal experience, on a shoestring budget, shooting a movie in black and white in the 90's, filming in predominantly one location - the place he used to work in.
