I find that many high budget movies with super star cast are often very similar, either about world destruction or other similar plot. Low budget movies that I have seen were often unique in their own way and very well executed.
I have not seen many of these but "The Man From Earth" is my favorite one. Another similar one is "12 Angry Men". "Primer" and "Coherence" were also good and really low budget sci-fi movies.
Are there any other, not necessarily similar, low budget movies with good story line?
EDIT: "Moon" ($7M) and "Mr. Nobody ($47M)" were not that low cost but still lower than many and were very good movies.

EDIT : Most movies mentioned here are below $1M and some are even only few thousand dollars. We can probably call this range the real low budget.
