Just wanted to open a discussion/recommendation list on heist movies. Heist movies have changed a lot over the years, so even if the movie isn't exactly a heist movie, I'd still love to watch it (i.e - Reservoir Dogs). So far I've watched:
- Oceans 11,12,13
- Inside Man
- Hell or High Water
- Logan Lucky
- Le Cercle Rouge
- Bob Le Flambeur
- The Killing
- The Town
- Reservoir Dogs
- Jackie Brown
- The Italian Job (2003)
- The Bank Job
- Fast Five
- Tower Heist
- Now You See Me
The Killing and Hell or High Water were probably my favorites. I think the Soderbergh films really like to use the "fake out" -- where at the end of the heist, you learn how it REALLY happened, which obviously inspired Fast Five and Now You See Me. For me, it was poorly/overly used in Ocean's 12, where you find out that 90% of the movie you just watched was irrelevant since they stole it weeks ago.
Also -- I found it really interesting that most heist movies (or at least the ones I've watched) involve a woman either ruining the heist, or helping complete it in a major way.
Any thoughts or recommendations on other heist movies?
EDIT: forgot to add
- Ant-Man
- Baby Driver
- Inception
- 21
EDIT 2: Thanks for all the suggestions! Slowly starting my way through these. Keep them coming!
