I keep hearing how 'IT' is different from other horror movies and supposedly going to impact how future ones are made, but I don't get it - explain please?

As per the title - 'IT' just seemed like a normal horror film to me. Lots of jumpscares and sharp musical cues and a terrifying creature that's the focus of everything. I don't really see this huge differences from other cliche horror films that people are raving about...?
