What films do you peeps feel screams of "corporate-made?"
We have all seen at least one film in our lives that we were either excited for (after watching the trailers/ promos), felt indifferent about, or just completely disappointed. Also, a lot of films do have some level of studio influence/ interference, but there are some where you can tell that there are/were too many cooks in the kitchen.
For me, I would have to say The Mummy. Now, I was not looking forward to this film by any means, but after deciding to give it a look, it becomes a no-brainer that Universal just wanted to take a group of iconic monsters in cinema history and build a cinematic universe out of these characters.
There was little to no story, no character development, Annabelle Wallis' character just says Tom Cruise's characters name every other second, and what could have been a solid horror film becomes another generic action film.
But enough of my rambling, what about you guys on r/movies?
