Now I’m not saying she’s underrated by any means. Lately I’ve been seeing her in a lot of things and I thought it was great that she was making a comeback, till I realized that she never actually went away.
Checking her IMDb, since she started acting, there was only one year in her entire career that there weren’t any releases (2000). But that was preceded by Eyes Wide Shut (1999), swiftly followed by Moulin Rouge and The Others (2001).
I think just going through her filmography, it shows that she truly loves acting, but she’s also so consistent. She makes fantastic choices and has a great range. But not only that, but unlike actors that might have 100+ titles to their names, she’s either a lead or an integral supporting character.
Between all the scandals and the way Hollywood tends to have its ebbs and flows with actors and especially actresses, it’s great to see her succeed, especially on an A-list/recognizable household name level.
I think similarly, Reece Witherspoon’s also been at it for a long time.

As much as we’re fans of big comebacks and actor’s coming out of irrelevancy, I think there’s something commendable about those that have consistently given top quality performance for years.
