It’s something I’d clocked before but had forgotten about until I watched it again the other day.
Once Simon Pegg & co reach their old hometown of Newton Haven, all the cars there are the same make and model - Vauxhall Ampera (Opel Ampera for the rest of the world). The car parks and streets, everywhere, dozens of these electric cars.
At first I thought it really random they chose this one particular(edit: and very rare) EV to populate the town with, but when you consider the main antagonists of the story have improved technology and just made everything “better”, it’s pretty funny that they’ve homogenised even the cars. It can’t have been a small effort to do something that not many people would notice. Nothing revolutionary, just a fun detail I thought you’d all appreciate.
