With the release of WWE's newest licensed video game, WWE 2K16, a little more than four months away, we can expect to start seeing information, graphics, gameplay clips and other teasers with more and more frequency.
Today, WWE.com released some images of the first six characters that will be a part of the game in some form or fashion. It's an interesting group of names, both for gamers and the general WWE audience, since at least a few of the names are performers for whom the company thinks fans will be excited.
To that end, names like former Shield brothers Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose should come as no surprise. Nor should Paige, or - despite or maybe especially because of the question marks surrounding whether or not he'll ever wrestle again - Daniel Bryan.
Finn Bálor is a name that raises some eyebrows, even though its long been rumored the company has big plans for the Irishman with the flashy entrance, being included in this group helps dissuade fears that the lack of call-up rumors means he's getting lost in the shuffle. It also leads us to believe that NXT's push as a brand could play a large role in the newest game.
And Wade/Bad News/King Barrett is here because...he was an easy scan & code?
These six names go along with wrestlers who'd already revealed on social media that they'd been scanned for the game, like NXT Women's champ Sasha Banks, Rusev, Rosa Mendes and Zack Ryder.
Who else are you looking forward to seeing in 2K Games October 27 release?
