Final Comments:
Although i'm happy with my monthly rankings, I feel like some movies were hindered simply because I had seen them before (with the obvious exception of WALL-E) Movies like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter probably would have done better if I was viewing them for the first time.
And also I feel some months were stronger than others, and a movie that came second or third in one month, would've come first in another month, Pulp Fiction or Fight Club for example
There are still quite a few movies I didn't get to which i'm disappointed about. If our Internet hadn't gone down the crapper on multiple occasions I wouldn't have had to watch the Twilight Series on DVD (thanks mum...) But hey, at least I skipped Breaking Dawn Part 1 and went straight to Part 2 because I do have some standards. But usually multiple re-watches in a short period of time was the times our Internet was dead.
Only 3 movies nearly brought me to tears this year: Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, Perks of Being a Wallflower and Grave of the Fireflies...Grave of the Fireflies made those other 2 look like comedies by comparison. Took ages after watching it before I could even talk about it without getting choked up.
I also learnt I don't have a specific genre that I like more than others. Going into 2018, if you had asked me what my favourite genre was I would have said sci-fi/fantasy. Now i'm open to pretty much anything.
Overall: I'm happy that I managed to accomplish this, but man i'd never do it again. The stress of not thinking I was not going to be able to do it on a few occasions was tough. But i'm happy with how many movies I have seen now.
Thanks for reading!
