Trainspotting 2 is just as good as the original. Thoughts?

After rewatching Trainspotting 2 recently i've come to the conclusion that it's just as good as the original.

To Quote Nick Cannata-Brown; ''T2 succeeds as a sequel in more than one way. Most importantly though, it manages to reference its predecessor subtly enough that you never feel like you’re being beat over the head with an onslaught of inside jokes. Sometimes, it’s a poetic re-creation of a scene from the original Trainspotting. For other scenes, it’s an offhand reference that goes by so quickly you barely have time to register it’s happening before it’s over.''

The movie is visually stunning, brutally honest & isn't afraid to explore the inner darkness that can be found in these characters 20+ years since we last encountered them.

Spud felt like a punchline in the original movie (which isn't a knock to the original) while in T2 he get's a proper arc, giving us a sense of hope, a feeling that we don't get in the original which is just another reason that separates this movie from its predecessor.

I loved the original Trainspotting & was reluctant when they announced T2, but after watching it upon it's release i was filled with joy, it's rare to get a sequel like this that isn't a cheap cash in, instead we get a natural continuation.

Anyone else feel Trainspotting 2 is just as good as the original?

How would you guys feel about a third movie?
