Just finished watching The Princess Diaries and I keep forgetting how much of an unsupportive friend Lilly is. She immediately assumes Mia is ditching her, shames her for it, only apologises after finding out she’s royalty and is sour about Mia not coming on her talk show when she’s clearly under a lot of pressure. Anne Hathaway seems to have a thing for shitty best friends in her movies.
Another one I can name is Rhiannon from Easy A. Constantly calls Olive a bitch, forces her to disclose something that is clearly personal (if not fake) and after a fight, joins the cult-like, fake Christians seeking to take her down which is worse than any other best friend vengeance.
