How to Add a Logo to a Dashboard In Tableau

You can add a logo or other image to a Tableau dashboard. When you add an image, it appears anywhere the dashboard is displayed: in PDF, on Tableau Server, embedded in a blog post, and so on.

Add an image to a dashboard

Step 1

Open an existing dashboard for editing, or add a new dashboard to a workbook.

Step 2

Drag the Image object from the Dashboard window to the dashboard space.
When the gray shading appears at the location where you want the image, release the mouse button.

Step 3

In the Open dialog box, browse to and select the logo’s file, and then click Open.
The logo appears where you positioned the image object. When you add an object so that it is tiled in the layout, it fills the available space.

Resize the image’s container

If the dashboard object is significantly larger than your logo after it fills the available space within the dashboard layout, you can resize the image object one of the following ways:
  • Right-click the object, select Floating, and then drag the borders to change the size.
  • If the image is one of multiple dashboard objects, you can also hover over the image to display borders, and then drag a border.
Note: If the image scales when you resize the dashboard object, but you want it to remain at its original size, you can right-click the object and select Fit Image to cancel the selection.
You can also place text, web page, blank space, or other objects on a dashboard. For more information, see Adding Dashboard Objects in the Tableau Desktop Help.
