Watched "The Lighthouse" last night and was absolutely blown away by his performance. Why in the (expletive) wasn't he nominated for an Academy Award? It looks like the film was nominated for best cinematography, but can anyone explain this obvious snub (in my opinion)? Is there a tendency not to nominate horror movies in general? Is there some kind of history between the Academy and Dafoe I'm unaware of?
