So, I just wanted to share an experience I got to have. A co-worker tipped me off that there was going to be a screening of James Cameron's Aliens followed by a QandA with Sigourney Weaver following the screening.
A few things:
- I have seen Aliens more time than I could count at home and it wasn't until this screening I realized this film was truly crafted for cinema viewing, the movie winds the audience up and never lets go. The audience was so invested and enthusiastic is was increible.
But afterwards Sigourney came out. As a fan, I would have been more than satisfied to simply hear her speak on the film, yet as she began to speak and see the audiences overwhelming enthusiam toward her performance she cracked up and had pause, nearly breaking into tears, she admitted "It's nearly 30 years since ive revisted this film" and I think the audience responce truly moved her.
It was a truly incredible exprience seeing her speak to this film all these years later and to see that film mattered so dealry to this modern audience.
