When you publish a workbook to Tableau Server, you can specify which users are allowed to access it. You can verify user permissions on a published workbook on Tableau Server at any time. However, when you check the user permissions for multiple workbooks, the value all selected might appear in the column where the user permissions would appear.
Tableau Server displays “all selected” to indicate the maximum permissions for the users that have access to any one of the workbooks that you have selected. For example, suppose you publish Workbook A and Workbook B to Tableau Server, granting User-A permissions to access Workbook A, and User-B permissions to access Workbook B. If you want to check the permissions for both workbooks at once, Tableau displays “all selected” to indicate the maximum permission level that both Alice and Bob have to the respective workbooks.
To check the user permissions for a workbook, navigate to an individual workbook instead. Select the check box next to the workbook name, and then click the Permissions link.
